Community Collaborations

Community Innovation Trust

(An innovative community mobilization strategy.)

Transforming lives ...

The Community Innovation Trust™ (“CIT™”) is a non-profit public/private partnership (P3) made up of private foundations, academic institutions, governmental agencies, private companies collaborating to research, define and implement community-based practices for human development, sustainable change and life transformation.

By bringing together the diverse developmental expertise and extensive networks and wherewithal of financial and human resources of sponsoring partners, the CIT™ provides a structured approach towards sustainable, grass-roots solutions to local community challenges.  The CIT initiative provides the infrastructure that fosters sustainable change and individual empowerment, which enables community stakeholders to collaborate and solve world challenges responsibly.

The CIT™ provides the framework, education and training to formally organize communities, deploy community-based assets and build needed collaborations to address community needs.  This coordinated process enables community citizens to establish safe and vibrant environments for children and families to grow and reach their full potential.

Partnership  Structure

The CIT™ public-private partnership (P3) integrates public sector entities with private sector management strategies and/or financial support. The partnership encourages input from diverse stakeholders who leverage leading practices from their respective fields of expertise. By diversifying funding sources, distributing risk and reward effectively, and bringing expertise from all sectors, the CIT™ P3 will allow governments to efficiently expand and improve their services, generating buy-in from all stakeholders.

The CIT™ enables the public sector to harness the expertise and knowledge that the private sector brings to the delivery of certain community and human development services traditionally procured and delivered by the public sector.
